Legislation The Malta Tourism Authority was formally set up by the Malta Travel & Tourism Services Act (1999) which defines its structure, role and functions, including the promotion of tourism, the regulation of tourism services and operations, and matters connected therewith or ancillary thereto. This is supplemented by Subsidiary Legislation defining Regulations applicable to specific sectors of the industry.
