The Quality Assured (QA) seal recognises restaurants, attractions, and DMCs that uphold high standards in service, professionalism, and visitor experience through regular assessments by the Malta Tourism Authority.
About the QA Seal
The Quality Assured (QA) seal is a voluntary quality recognition scheme managed by the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA). It is designed for businesses that demonstrate high standards of quality, consistency, and professionalism in the tourism sector.
The QA seal applies to three key tourism business operations:
- Restaurants
- Visitor Attractions
- Destination Management Companies (DMCs)
Businesses participating in the QA scheme undergo assessments either annually or once every two years, depending on the category and requirements. The assessment criteria are tailored to each category and ensure that certified businesses provide exceptional service, professional operations, and a high-quality experience for visitors.

History
2008: The QA seal was introduced for DMCs, with the first companies awarded in 2009.
2010: The scheme expanded to include visitor attractions.
2014: Inclusion of restaurants’ eligibility for certification.

Quality Assured seal for Destination Management Companies – The scheme was launched in 2008 and the scope is to recognise DMCs committed to high levels of quality and professionalism. The assessment is carried out through an audit and participation is on a voluntary basis. Quality Assured DMCs are conference organisers and event planners that have been certified and given the quality seal. QA Seal for Visitor Attractions
Quality Assured seal for Visitor Attractions – The scheme was launched in 2010 and the scope is to recognise visitor attractions committed to high levels of quality and professionalism. The assessment is carried out through an announced visit and participation is on a voluntary basis. QA Visitor Attractions include a variety of places such as museums, historic houses and parks which offer unique experiences for old and young alike. You can rest assured that these places are worthy of a visit and good value for money, while you are on holiday in the Maltese Islands. All the visitor attractions listed in these pages have been certified.

QA Seal for Restaurants
Introduced in 2014, the QA seal for Restaurants certifies high-quality dining establishments, including those within hotels.
The assessment process consists of a mystery guest visit followed by an announced inspection. Certified QA Restaurants meet strict quality and service standards, ensuring an exceptional dining experience.
