Since its inaugural event in 1993, the Malta International Airshow has become a premier attraction, drawing aviation enthusiasts from around the globe. Hosted every 2-years, this event showcases an impressive array of military and civilian aircraft, including breathtaking aerobatic performances and static displays. Over the years, it has grown into one of Malta’s biggest outdoor events, celebrating the island’s rich aviation heritage and bringing together pilots, crews, and spectators to share their passion for flight.
The Airshow is mainly staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers (now circa 200) mostly from our islands but we also have volunteers from different countries, who come together in September to be part of the Malta International Airshow. Through their great efforts, the Airshow is now recognised as one of the Malta’s largest events.
Volunteers are involved in every aspect of the show, from greeting aircrew on arrival to helping the general public with queries.
Volunteers work closely together forging friendships that can be regenerated as experienced volunteers come back year after year, whilst new friendships are made with first-time volunteers joining the Malta Airshow team.
